Hello,

I’m Cathyline.

My creative practice begins with visual art hand drawn illustration, watercolour, and intuitive mark making, which I then translate into thoughtful pattern design. I blend colour, story, and intention into every collection, allowing each motif to evolve from artwork into repeat.

My work is guided by the natural rhythms of the natural landscapes I explore in Far North Queensland and New Guinea, woven together with my own story and the inspiration of the women in my tribe who create traditional bilums and pass down knowledge through their handcraft.

You’ll often find me happiest chasing waterfalls with my children or exploring nature with my artist toys in hand, gathering textures and quiet moments that later become patterns.

My surface pattern design and creative wellbeing practices are deeply connected. Both are grounded in the belief that creativity has the power to nurture wellbeing, spark curiosity, and help us reconnect with ourselves and the world around us.
